When you have a bad back you have to make sure that you are wise about what you are exposing yourself to.  There are a lot of people that do not realize how important it is to be vigilant about caring for their back.

While you are trying to build muscle in your back and relive pain in your back, you want to be sure that your mattress is not doing damage to yours spine.  Making progress in the day only to have it reversed by your mattress at night will not only be a waste of your time but will also be frustrating.

You have to be wise about the mattress that you choose to sleep on every night so that you are able to help your back feel good.

As you are choosing a mattress you will want to…

1.      Consult your doctor
2.      Take your time shopping
3.      Do not be afraid to make a return

Start by talking with your doctor about what he or she would recommend for your back.  After you talk with the doctor make sure that you invest some time and effort into finding the mattress that the doctor has recommended for you.  Do not be afraid to walk away from a specific mattress so that you can continue shopping.

Understanding the return policy on the mattress is also necessary.  If you take it home and find that your back hurts after a few days, take the mattress back and continue shopping.

Finding Relief from Round Ligament Pain

While most women have probably never heard of round ligaments in their life, you certainly will come to feel them when you are pregnant! Your round ligaments are the supports used to hold up your growing uterus. As your uterus expands due to pregnancy, these ligaments are forced to stretch, and become increasingly thin. This can result in both sharp pain and dull aching that can be very unpleasant.

When it comes to this round ligament pain, there is not much you can do to stop it from happening. Unfortunately, it is simply a part of pregnancy, and will soon pass after having the baby. However, during your last two trimesters, it can seem unbearable at times, triggering painful low back pain as well.

Though you cannot actually effectively treat the source of the problem, you can still treat some of the side effects, and symptoms. Low back pain is a common occurrence in conjunction with this pain—a trip to a professional chiropractor can help with this a great deal.

Sometimes getting a good adjustment, along with some massage, can help to relieve the pressure and discomfort you are feeling in your low back and hips due to round ligament pain.
