How to Relieve Low Back Pain

If you have chronic pain in your low back, you know how frustrating it can be. It can limit your activity level, and make you want to spend the rest of the evening in bed. Sometimes you even begin to feel it shooting pain down in your hips and legs.

If this has been true for you, it is time to take matters into your own hands. Since you usually can’t run off to the chiropractor’s office every time you feel pain, you will need to try some remedies at home. There are few different things you can try, to relieve aching low back muscles:

           1.       Work on maintaining good posture; keeping your back straight and your hips aligned throughout the day can make a big difference at the end of the night.

           2.       Try some hot and cold therapy; you can use ice packs to relieve any inflammation, and hot packs or warm baths to get muscles to release.

           3.       Avoid repetitive motions if you can; repetition is one of the key causes of back pain. The more you can avoid bending over and over or lifting heavy things repeatedly, the better.

           4.       Exercise; make sure you are getting at least thirty minutes of exercise a day, to keep your back feeling strong and healthy.

If you try to implement these tips, you may begin to see a difference at the end of the day. If the pain does not go away or worsens, talk to your doctor or chiropractor.

Pain does not have to become a part of your daily life. Take the steps you can today to get rid of low back pain forever.
